In my music, I’m curious about emotion, color, modal language, and the expressivity of the flute. My book, Modal Flute Warmup, grew from this exploration, using modal language as a foundation for warmup, sparking creativity, and encouraging a sense of discovery.

In my other work I’ve been especially enjoying low sonorities, such as alto flute paired with bass clarinet, and using drones to create soundscapes. I look to create ways for players to experience freedom, collaboration, and mutuality as they play together.

BOOK — Modal Flute Warmup
