Flute Instruction

I welcome flutists of all ages, from beginners to advanced players, and tailor lessons to each student’s individual path. At the center of my teaching is a commitment to nurturing the whole student — not just the flute player. My role is to guide and support students as they grow in skill, confidence, and imagination, while also discovering what music means to them personally.

Lessons blend building a strong technical foundation with curiosity, reflection, and creativity. We focus not only on sound and technique, but also on body awareness, healthy playing habits, and expressive freedom. Students are encouraged to think like explorers — asking questions, trying new approaches, and developing problem-solving skills that help them find their own artistic voice.

I also believe music connects us to something larger than ourselves. In my studio, students engage with community through being involved in various ensembles or groups, giving performances or being encouraged to attend live concerts. Students are supported as individuals, yet also inspired by the sense of belonging that comes from sharing music with others.

Ultimately, I want my students to feel challenged and inspired, with space to celebrate who they are as musicians. Whether preparing for a recital, exploring a new style, or simply enjoying the journey of learning, each student’s artistry is valued and encouraged to flourish.

I welcome flutists of all ages, from beginners to advanced players, and tailor lessons to each student’s individual path. My teaching is guided by five core values: humanity, connection to community, body awareness, discovery, and creativity. Lessons combine a strong foundation of flute technique with curiosity, reflection, and imagination, helping every student grow into their own artistic voice.

Students who are eager to explore, ask questions, and engage deeply with their studies will thrive in this studio. Weekly lessons are offered in 30, 45, 60, or 75 minutes. I will recommend the best length based on a student’s age, level, and goals - and this may change over time as they develop. Tuition (September–May) includes 32 lessons, two studio classes, and two recitals. Family discounts are available; pianist fees for recitals and rehearsals are paid directly by families.

Studio life is active and supportive: students perform regularly, collaborate with peers, and are encouraged to experience live performances in the community. My goal is to create an environment where students feel challenged and inspired, and space to explore, grow, and celebrate who they are as musicians.
